In 2018 we will be offering 3 Schooling Horse Trials (SHT). Those who participate in at least two of our SHT will be eligible for year end awards. We will give Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons and prizes in each division. Each rider and horse combination will receive a combined score made up of their two best scores from the three shows.
New for 2018: to be eligible for our year end awards, competitors must complete a minimum of two volunteer hours at one of our horse shows. Please see our volunteer page in order to sign up!!
In honor of longtime boarder and friend of Course Brook Farm, this award recognizes the best scoring Preliminary Level rider. This prize includes a commemorative platter, the winner’s name on a perpetual plaque at Course Brook Farm and a $150.00 cash prize.
Janet was one of a group of boarders who, many years ago, initiated the concept of eventing at Course Brook Farm when they literally took to the woods and began clearing trails and making a path that would one day become our cross country course. Janet and her husband Jerry were there from the start. They volunteered at our very first recognized horse trials and could often be seen ringside as show jump timers unless Janet was competing in which case Jerry was her able groom.
At each of our shows this year – including our USEA Recognized Horse Trials – we will award a ribbon and prize to the best scoring overall Pony Club member. The Pony Club prize is sponsored by the Norfolk Hunt Pony Club which is located in Sherborn, MA and has several Course Brook boarders among its members. Course Brook appreciates this opportunity to acknowledge the members of Pony Club who focus not only on riding well but on caring for their horses through their horse management program. If you are a member of USPC, be sure to check the appropriate box on all your entry forms. If you aren’t a member already, become one today!
Course Brook Farm is again participating in the Area I Schooling Horse Trials Championships to be held August 19, 2018, at Apple Knoll Farm. Scores accrued at the Schooling HT at Course Brook will be recorded and shared with the organizers of the Championship.
