Ann Guptill is a professional dressage rider, trainer and US Dressage Federation Certified Instructor with her home base of operation at her own Fox Ledge Farm in East Haddam, Connecticut, USA.  She has won numerous regional and national titles at all levels of dressage and continues an active competitive career as well as participating and chairing important committees with the USDF.  With her equine partner Maple Magnum she placed 5th individually at the 1987 Pan American Games and helped secure the Team Silver Medal. In 1992 she competed in the final Dressage Selection Trials for the Olympic Games. ADULT RIDING CAMP
“INTRODUCTION TO DRESSAGE”

JULY 17TH – 19TH

A three day camp at Course Brook Farm for riders starting out in the dressage discipline. The camp will have a fun, non-stressful, environment for adults wishing to learn more about dressage in a non-competitive atmosphere. The camp will be organized into three levels; Introductory (walk –trot), Training Level 1 & 2, and Training Level 3 & 4.

Each day will start at 9 a.m. with a lecture. Next, a horsemanship session followed by a catered lunch. After lunch, you will ride for an hour and a half in a group at your appropriate level.

The camp will be taught by Kari Allen, USDF “L” judge graduate with distinction and Erika Hawkes (see CBF website).

The camp will run July 17th – July 19th. You can ride all three days or pick and choose the days you would like to ride. You will have the opportunity to put all you have learned at the camp together by joining other camp riders in showing at the Charles River Dressage (CRDA) Schooling Show at Apple Knoll Farm on July 20th. Coaching from Erika Hawkes will be available. The show is optional and a separate fee.

ADULT RIDING CAMP
“INTRODUCTION TO EVENTING”

July 24th-July 26th 2008

A three day camp at Course Brook Farm in Sherborn , MA for riders starting out in eventing. The camp will have a fun, non-stressful environment for adults wishing to learn more about the 3-phases of eventing, in a non-competitive atmosphere.  The camp will be organized in three levels: Introductory (jumping to 18”), Elementary (jumping to 2’3”), and Beginner Novice (jumping to 2’6”).
 
 The camp will be taught by Kari Allen USDF ‘L” judge graduate with distinction and Erika Hawkes, an Intermediate event rider with many placings including 8th place at Radnor. (see CBF Website). Day one (Thursday) will be dressage, day two (Friday) will be cross-country and day three (Saturday) will be stadium jumping.  Each day will start at 9 a.m. with a lecture.  Next, will be a horsemanship session followed by a catered lunch.  After lunch, you will ride for an hour and a half in a group at your appropriate level.
 
 The camp will run July 24TH, 25th and 26th.  You can ride all three days, or pick and choose the days you would like to ride. You will have an opportunity to put all you have learned at the camp together by joining other camp riders in showing at the Valinor Farm Schooling Horse Trials in Plymouth, MA on Sunday July 27th. Showing is optional and separate from the camp. Erika Hawkes is available for coaching at the horse trial on July 27th.  Not ready to ride in an event?  Come and join in the course walks and see what it is like to be part of a horse trials.

Joy is the owner and trainer of Cadence Farm, Harvard, Massachusetts. She is an avid and successful competitor on the USDF Region 8 circuit. This year she’ll be competing one of her horses at training and first level and her second horse at fourth level and Prix Saint George. Joy has started horses from three years old and trained them up to the FEI levels. She has also trained and coached young riders from walk-trot to become successful FEI junior and young riders, most notably her daughter, Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen.  Joy regularly works with Lendon Gray and holds a USDF bronze medal. She is also actively involved with the USDF and Dressage4Kids.
 
Joy enjoys working with riders of all levels and all types of horses.
